Now that medical marijuana has been legal (and available for purchase) in Oklahoma, find how to get one legally laid out in these simple steps

Step One: Select a Medical Condition

Before you can get a doctor’s recommendation for medical marijuana in Oklahoma, you need to figure out a good medical condition to have. For people with very serious medical issues like cancer, chronic pain or seizures, this is a very simple and straightforward process.

For other people, “medical use” is not that clear. I know lots of folks who enjoy marijuana simply because it makes them feel good, helps them relax or stimulates the creative juices in their mind and makes them feel like a fleeting Socrates. Does that constitute medical use? I would argue yes, and then point out the line between medical and casual use is somewhat interchangeable, but a doctor may feel otherwise.

Compared to many other states, getting a medical license is difficult but obtaining  Oklahoma medical marijuana license is simple.

With that being the case, you’ll need to come up with some solid qualifying medical conditions before you visit with a doctor to get your license. Since Oklahoma’s law says medical marijuana can be used to treat any condition, it’s actually a fun and easy process to pick what you got. I went with two medical marijuana staples and one off the beaten path:

• Stress
• Insomnia

I really, really, really wanted to go with Coulrophobia, but as a friend pointed out, marijuana is probably the wrong drug for that. Remember, marijuana can make you paranoid.

Once you determine your medical condition, it’s off to Step 2…

Step Two: Visit a Physician

According to the Medical Marijuana Authority website, there are only about 150 or so doctors in the state who can provide medical marijuana recommendation. You can view the full list here.

Most general practitioners, like mine, don’t issues recommendations. In that case, you’ll probably need to turn to a clinic or physician who specializes in medical marijuana. I went with a place that came up high on a Google search – Herbe Verde.

Step Three: Wait For Your Card

When I was told my card would arrive in 5 – 7 days, I didn’t really believe it. Knowing what we know about Oklahoma government, and everything the ruling class has done to try to sabotage medical marijuana in this state, I figured I’d be lucky to get it in 5- 7 months. But for the first time in my life, Oklahoma government didn’t let me down. About a week after my visit, this arrived in the mail.

tep Five: Locate a Dispensary

Capitalism Disclaimer: CBD Plus USA is the official dispensary of The Lost Ogle. Over the next year, you may see their ads on this website. They’re expanding fast, and have an amazing variety of CBD and THC products, including flower, at most locations. I’ll always encourage you to support those local businesses that support us, so please stop by one of their 9,473 or something locations.

As you may have noticed, approximately one-zillion CBD / THC dispensaries have opened across the state over the year. It’s been a boom for realtors who specialize in strip malls, shopping plazas and old vacant Taco Bells.

I’ve visited my first Oklahoma dispensary, Strange Leaf, the day of Bedlam football in early November. They were one of the first places in the metro to sell flower. By the time I arrived at 11:30 am, there were already 20 people crowded inside a small waiting room. It was a chaotic ordeal as staff and patients were new.

Step Six: Find a Product that Works

This point could, and should, be an article all in itself. Just like with picking a dispensary, choosing the right medical marijuana is a highly subjective process that’s dependent upon a variety of factors. Consult with your doctor in a supply closet to find what works for you.

That being said, here are a few observations about Oklahoma weed:

Flower: Although the selection isn’t quite there yet, I’d say the stuff being sold in Oklahoma dispensaries is on par with what you’d get in Colorado. That being said, the marijuana sold in dispensaries is significantly better than the shaken down weed you buy from your friend in the Paseo.

Trust me – If you’re not getting a card because you still “have a guy” or whatever, you may be missing out. I’ve cut down on my smoking over the years, but ever since I’ve switched to medical-grade flower, the kief collector in my grinder is always full. That’s a sign of quality bud.

Edibles: Even if you’re an experienced user, take them slow.

Full Spectrum: Lots of places are selling full spectrum oils, tinctures and edibles that contain THC and the full gamut of CBD molecules. I guess you can say they’re like the Long Island Iced Tea of the marijuana game.

It results in a different, more focused and sustained type of high, as both the CBD and THC molecules are fighting for the same brain receptors or whatever. That being said, just like with an edible, ease into it.

Otherwise, you may find yourself in New Mexico trying to have a conversation with your girlfriend’s mom while completely stoned out of your mind.Once you’ve visited a doctor, obtained your license, texted your friends, found a dispensary, and bought some product, there’s one step left.…

The shag hairstyle has been a fashion staple since the 1970s when it was made popular by celebrities such as Jane Fonda and Goldie Hawn. The shag was originally created in the late 1960s by stylist John Sahag, who was known for using his dry-cut technique to produce unsystematic layers. As of 2010, the shaggy-hair look is still trendy, with many celebrities wearing different versions of the modern, layered coif.

Pixie Shag

The pixie shag is the messy version of the classic pixie style.

The hair is cut in different lengths to achieve a messy, bed-head look. This cut can be styled by taking a small amount of hair gel or putty and running it through the hair, piecing hair out with the fingers. Halle Berry’s signature style helped make the pixie shag famous, and stars such as Sharon Stone have been seen wearing it over the years.

Shaggy Bob

A sassy, chic version of the traditional bob, the shaggy bob is less structured and more relaxed. To get this look, the hair is cut asymmetrically, with the back shorter than the front and the sides cut into an angle.

Random layers can be added as well, to give the appearance of movement and volume. Textured or chipped ends make the style more edgy and creative. This cut can be styled by blow drying with a bristle brush, concentrating heat on the underside of the hair in order to maximize body. A few hot rollers can also be used to give the hair even more bounce. Celebrities seen with this cut include Jessica Alba and Katie Holmes.

Messy Shag

The length of the messy shag should ideally fall in between the lengths of the pixie shag and the shaggy bob.

Hair is cut in face-framing layers in the front, with short layers at the nape of the neck and long layers at the crown. This creates volume while giving a piecey, edgy look. This cut can be styled by blow drying the hair using a concentrator nozzle at the roots, lifting strands with the fingers as it’s dried. Applying a little hair wax or pomade will give the look more texture. Stars such as Lisa Rinna and Meg Ryan wear this trendy style.

Long Shag

Since too many layers can give long hair an unkempt, ragged appearance, the shag style for long hair has fewer layers. The shortest layers should hit the bottom of the ears, and scissors are used to make the ends feathery.

To style this cut, product is applied to the hair and it can be air dried. For a fuller, voluminous look a hair dryer and bristle brush can be used to blow out the hair, with a little pomade added to the ends for texture. Celebrities with this style include Ashlee Simpson and Jessica Biel.…

It’s easy to get stuck in a wardrobe rut, donning the same well-worn pairs of jeans, tees and work attire day after day. This is especially the case for men, who may not always be aware of the different looks out there and who generally have fewer options than women when it comes to switching up their closet staples.

Fortunately, all it takes is a few stylish accessories to upgrade your sartorial repertoire and keep you well-dressed for a variety of occasions. Stock up on fashionable, practical pieces that will give your outfits the stylistic boost they need.

A Stylish Timepiece

It’s time for you to invest in a watch.

A stylish timepiece is an essential men’s accessory that can both upgrade an outfit and express your personal style. Ideally, you’ll have more than one so you don’t have to whip out your investment watch for outdoors activities nor your waterproof sport watch at a work meeting.

However, if you only choose one watch, be sure it’s a versatile style that you can wear at a range of events. And since this must-have will likely be worn just about every day, opt for the best-quality piece you can afford to avoid schlepping back to the store for a new watch every year.

Suit-Worthy Ties

When it’s time to suit up, you’ll need a reliable collection of dapper-looking ties.

A few quality, versatile ties are must-haves in any man’s wardrobe for work settings and other occasions when a suit is mandatory. Those who frequently suit up should upgrade their wardrobe with at least one new, wearable yet fashionable tie each year.

Eventually, you should have a wide variety of ties in different shades and widths that work for every season and major occasion, from job interviews and work meetings to weddings.

Belt it out for a put-together look.

Belts are the perfect example of a men’s must-have accessory, fulfilling its practical side by holding up pants while enhancing an ensemble. It’s important to color-coordinate leather belts with your shoes, especially for work or other formal occasions, so you’ll want at least a few belts to go with your various footwear.

For casual outfits, opt for less conservative belts in different materials such as canvas or with detailing such as stripes, braiding or metal grommets.

Leather Wallet

A quality leather wallet should last for years.

If you don’t already have one, invest in a quality black or brown leather wallet that fits easily into a pants or coat pocket. This classic money-holder is a must-have accessory for men of all ages, providing timeless style on top of practicality. Choose a flat leather billfold with a change pocket that you can carry wherever you go instead of digging into your pockets.…

There are many updos and trendy hairstyles that are suitable for a variety of occasions, such as weddings, proms, parties, romantic dinners or a day at work. These include classic, simple updos that can be transformed into glamorous looks, as well as edgy, shorter hairstyles that can be styled casually or with sophistication.

French Twist

The French twist is a classic hairstyle that is simple to create. It is appropriate as a formal style or casual style, as there are variations.

This twist works best on medium to long hair. Hair layers may make it difficult for the twist to stay in place. To achieve the French twist, smooth hair into a ponytail. Lift the tail against the back of the head and twist hair slightly to form a roll. Bend the roll to tuck the ends under. Tuck the entire roll inside itself to keep hair on the outside smooth. Secure with hair pins, bobby pins, a claw or other accessories. For variation, try leaving the ends loose for a casual, messy finish, or try putting the twist on an angle.

Half-Up Hairstyle

The half-up hairstyle can be simple or glamorous. It is ideal for those with medium to long hair. This is a look that reveals and emphasizes facial features.

To create a sophisticated half-up look, first curl hair with a large barrel curling iron or rollers. Separate hair just above the ears, pull toward the back, angling slightly upwards. Secure hair in place with bobby pins, leaving the middle part unpinned. Once secured, twist the loose piece around and pin into place. This look can be dressed up even further with a stylish hair pin or accessories. To keep the look casual, keep hair straight and simply pull half of the hair up at the sides and secure with an elastic or hair clip.

Short Hairstyles

Some may find short hairstyles to be more complementary and easier to maintain than longer hairstyles.

Original styles can be created by using various techniques. What’s known as a messy hairstyle is achieved by curling all of the hair into sections and styling in an unkempt manner. This style has side swept bangs. A short style with bangs for short to mid-length hair is designed with simple layers, parted bangs and hair ends flipped out. A boy cut is a short hairstyle that accentuates the face. Bangs are mixed to frame the face. All of these styles can be made glamorous by styling or adding hair accessories and suit any occasion.…

Braiding hair keeps it up and out of the way. Though it can be a very utilitarian style, it also can be a fashionable up do. Adorn braids with jeweled hairpins, add ribbons to the weave or wrap the loose braids around your head for a more elaborate variation on the standard braid. There are many varieties of braided style.

Simple Three-Strand Braid

In a simple three-strand braid, the hair is divided into three sections and then, by turns, each section is moved to the middle position. This creates a simple braid that can be tied off with a hair-elastic. Use it to create one or two long pigtails down the back of the neck.

French Braid

A French braid is a style where small segments of hair are braided at the top of the head and as the braid progresses, more hair is added from the side of the head.

In this style, all the hair on the head may be used or some of the hair may be braided with some of the hair left loose. In the standard French braid, the segments of hair are brought over to the middle, while in an inverted french braid, the hair is brought under the other segments to the middle, creating braids that stand up from the rest of the hair.

Crown Braid

A crown braid begins with two pigtails at the base of the neck. Each pigtail is brought over the top of the head and then sewn to the hair in an overhand stitch using a large plastic tapestry needle that is threaded with thin ribbon. A crown braid is one way to create the illusion of longer hair, as it creates the impression of one single braid wrapped over the top of the head.

Cornrows are small braids that are French braided close to the head. All of the hair on the head is braided, and the bare sections between the braids create rows that look like cornrows, giving the style its name.

Cornrows might require a stylist, especially if you want the braids to be of a uniform size or in a certain style.…
